It so quiet and comfortable, and every amenity that we need. We love the screened porch, it felt like being in a single family home! A one minute walk to the beach access point is key for us - no driving to the beach necessary!

Will be going back soon hopefully.Our golden retriever loved the beach and the screened in porch! Wish I could live there full time!

This place is perfect! It's an easy walk to the beach, has everything you'll need, and a wonderful screened-in-porch to enjoy the outdoors during meals and relaxation time. We loved it!

Easy access to beach and all attractions

This rental was the perfect size and in a quiet location. It was only a short walk to the beach, which was a plus!

Great location to the beach. We had 4 in our party, and there was plenty of room for us. Restaurants and shopping within a 5 mile radius. Rental company was very friendly and provided a list of recommended restaurants and shops. We will be back.

First impressions are important, and when we arrived the place was incredibly clean. Some reviews mention that it needs updates, but for us, as long as everything is in good working order that is all we need. I felt like the price of the rental was fair, thinking that updates would jack the rental price up a bit. The place is laid out similarly to a condo, but with the benefit of no neighbors. The location is really convenient, considering the walk to the beach is only about a block and the walk (or bicycle ride) to restaurants and shops is pleasant, too. The only downside I noticed was that parking is very limited, but other than that our experience with this rental was exactly what we were looking for.

Overall this is a comfortable beach house for a party of 4 or less. It's small, but met our needs for a 4 day stay. The kitchen is fairy well stocked, it had what we needed and the appliances are older but worked fine (we used everything but the coffee maker). The DVD player does not work - it makes all DVDs skip - we told the agency so hopefully that will get replaced. The streaming service was nice other way to get movies. The walls inside the whole house desperately need to be cleaned and painted. The bed was comfy enough. No cleaning supplies were provided except two tablets for the dishwasher, so we had to go out to buy our own soap, sponges, counter spray, paper towels, etc. That's fine, I just am used to other rental companies providing that stuff or leaving it in the house for all the renters to use. There was plenty of toilet paper provided.

NOW - about that beach access. It's HORRID. You walk a half a block to the entrance. But then you walk 3 "blocks" through a marsh/swamp where there is ankle high standing water and killer mosquitoes. Then you are on the beach. Our second day we chose to drive up to the super crowded East Beach entrance to avoid that nightmare.

Would I stay here again? Not if my mission were to come to the beach - because of that (lack of) access. If I just needed a place on the island, yes.

We loved the location and the layout of our rental. The porch with the French doors was especially nice. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness, especially the bathrooms. The living area furniture has stains that should be cleaned. The master bedding is worn out and doesn’t stay on the bed.
With a few upgrades and a deep clean this would be a very excellent rental.

This was our second stay at Olive Way! The street is quiet and it’s easily accessible to the beach. There’s plenty of room for the two of us and the screened porch is nice especially when you want to open doors for fresh air! The house was clean and the bed was soft and comfortable. The decor is nice but the furniture in the living area could use some love. The casters on the very nice leather chair and ottoman are loose and come off occasionally and the couch needs to be replaced. Despite the furniture issues we love the place and will be back next year!!

We chose this home due to it’s closeness to the beach, affordability and they said “yes” to our Labradors joining us. We spent a month in this home and had a lovely time. Everyday started with beach walking, off-leash playtime for our two furry kids. We walked around all the villages on the island, did many historical tours as well. The house is set-up nicely, with two spacious bedrooms, ample closet space. Each BR has a private bath ensuite. There is also a powder room. The kitchen has plenty of tools, cookware for preparing all meals, and an electric grill on the spacious (covered) deck. Olive Way is VERY quiet, you can hear the ocean with windows open. We felt safe too.

Real Escapes team were incredibly attentive the times we reached out for little things. They were very professional and friendly!! I recommend this house if you want a cost-effective way to enjoy SSI with your dogs. We are signed up already to return next year.

Check-in was easy and staff nice. Rental was in a great location and close to beach. Was very disappointed in the rental: it needs a deep cleaning, furniture and carpet was stained, pet stains on carpet, kitchen poorly equipped, Keurig coffee maker leaked and was not able to turn off air conditioning and we froze. No extra blankets. Owners need to put some money into this apartment to update and clean. I would stay there again, if cleaned and updated, otherwise not worth the money.

We enjoyed it very much. Spent most of the time on the porch...within hearing distance when there were waves. The hottest part of the day was sheltered from the sun and there was a gentle breeze most of the time. The rooms were large and had everything we needed.

Good place to stay for a small family on long weekend. Was disappointed in the parking. Listing says 2 vehicles. My truck alone filled the one spot designated for the rental so do not attempt to bring extra vehicle or golf cart.

Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. The house is in a great location to walk to the beach. There were a few repair issues but the main one was taken care of very quickly by the maintenance staff. Overall, we had a beautiful stay and will return next year.

Really enjoyed our stay. Location was just perfect and the unit was well equipped. The unit could really use some TLC. Porch needs a deep clean. Carpet and bedding needs replaced. Bathrooms could use new shower racks and doors.

Our vacation “home” was perfect. The location was walking distance to the beach and the neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen was well equipped, if you really wanted to cook instead of going out to any of the wonderful restaurants nearby. The beds were comfortable and after a day at the beach, a welcoming spot. We would gladly stay at this place again and again.

This was a great little spot for the four of us and our two dogs. Only thing constructive I'd say of the property is that it needs a deep cleaning. That said, being longtime visitors of St Simons Island, this may have been our last trip. This has nothing to do with the property. It has to do with the condition of the beach near all of our favorite spots. There is a 25-50 yard strip of new growth that is usually swampy and teeming with ants and flying biting bugs. It makes the trek down to the beach miserable. It's just over a half mile walk from this property to clear beach sitting spots.

This unit is above a garage in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean and everything worked. It's location close to the beach and to the main streets was enjoyed. We enjoyed the screened in porch. Bring your own soaps and toiletries. It needs some minor repairs to the walls where door knobs, etc has been slammed against them. Check in was easy.
We would recommend doing the trolley tour first, it gives lots of information about the island and restaurant recommendations. If you are a crab cake lover, Barbara Jeans is your place. Wonderful scallops and shrimp were enjoyed at Barbara Jeans, Iguana's and Crab Trap. Many of the restaurants are owned by the same people. We did not get to enjoy Southern Soul, recommended by Alton Brown and others. Groceries were purchased at Harris Teeter, with a wonderful selection.

Perfect size and extra bonus they allow dogs. The location was perfect within a block of the beach and two blocks of Coast Guard Park!
Overall the place was nice, a little wear and tear but everything was functional and confortable. The Leather chair and ottoman is awesome! Great deck that is screened in, perfect for sitting out at night with a glass of wine.

We have traveled extensively and this was one of the best rentals we have ever stayed at. The two large bedrooms, each with their own en suite, the screened in porch, the good sized living room (along with the 1/2 bath downstairs) was the ideal set up for two couples. The proximity to the beach was great. We were so glad we found this rental. (There were a few issues with maintenance that caught our eye, but no place is perfect!)

We enjoyed being close to the beach and being able to have our dog with us. The property was fine. Nothing fancy. Clean. Not any extra amenities. One of the previous reviews said they had beach chairs which we didn’t find but you can rent chairs on the beach. There were some great restaurants in the area that were fantastic!

We GREATLY enjoyed the location and the facilities.

This is a nice two-story cottage above a garage. It's very quiet and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach (access at the end of the street). There's a lot of room both upstairs and downstairs. It's centrally located between Redfern Village and Mallery Street. I used a bike my entire stay to get around to both.

The property location is absolutely perfect! Its well maintained and cute as can be. The kitchen appliances could easily be updated. There are many steps which gave my 12 year old black lab some trouble. Management was extremely helpful and I would highly recommend this property. Overall its a great little bungalow in close proximity to beach and village.

New porch furniture and some rugs made this a pleasant stay. The Wi-Fi was fast enough that we watched movies on our laptop without any significant buffering. The new ceiling fan in the kitchen was a breath of fresh air.

We couldn't ask for a better location to the beach. The walk to the beach is especially lovely, given the long stretches of sand dunes at that part of the beach. Our dog loved hanging out on the screen porch. The location makes eveywhere on the island seem accessible. We felt lucky to stay here and would rent again in a heartbeat. The pots and pans are in such bad shape that I question their safety. The broken ceiling fan in the kitchen supposedly is to be repaired soon. Steps to the beach but 1.5 miles to the shops. A few restaurants are closer though. Quiet neighborhood of condos and homes. While I might recommend this unit in warmer weather if the beach was the primary goal of the renter, I would not suggest a garage apartment for seniors who get cold easily. FYI....try the bread pudding at Crab Daddy’s!

We were down for just a few days. WiFi is adequate...we watched Netflix on my laptop. Very much relaxing. The kitchen ceiling fan was missing a paddle which means DON'T turn it swayed crazily. The veneer on a kitchen cabinet was lifting around the handle. Good value....we have stayed here before and will again.

There were some minor issues like a broken ceiling fan in the kitchen which we didn't need, and a burned out light in the stove smoke hood - pretty minor stuff. The unit was well lit, the furnishings and bedding were very comfortable. It would be nice to have privacy blinds for the living room. The thermostat is a very new high tech type, and we could not figure out how to program it, and it would use its programming and make the unit very cool at times - a set of programming instructions on the fridge would be good.

That might sound like a long list of gripes, but understand that the bottom line is that this is a GREAT unit in a FABULOUS location!

This is a great (and hard to find) smaller rental among a lot of much larger homes. It's a short walk to the beach and also to bike/walking trails along the marsh. The office was very helpful in advising us where we could leave our extra car (parking is available for 2 cars) and in letting us check in early. The screen porch gave us a terrific place to let a wet dog dry off before coming in! Thanks for a terrific stay!

We had a great week staying in 221 Olive Way. It was perfect for our family of four. You can’t beat the location either. So close to an uncrowded area of the beach. The boardwalk is not a public beach access so only that small residential area uses it. We loved the screened in porch as well. My only complaint was the kitchen was not stocked efficiently with cookware. What it did provide, was I extremely poor shape. Had to go buy my own frying pan at the Ace hardware!!

We always enjoy our visits to SSI.Since finding 221 Olive Way, we decided to stay there if at all possible. We love the location and the quietness of having an individual "unit". The new flooring downstairs is pretty and easy to clean. Kitchen needs a few pans/dishes, but we just bring our own. We enjoy cooking there. Upstairs shower needs a light,and outside door needs to be fixed so it will lock. Unit cools, but gets hot if you don't have fans running. We always bring a fan or two to assist with air flow! It would be great to have a king-size bed in master. Real Escapes is our "go to" for ideas and reservations! They are always helpful. Ken and Viki

The unit was cozy and it was located in a quiet area. The beach was a short walk away and the Pier was within a couple miles. We really enjoyed our time there.

We had a great few days in this rental near the beach. The pictures do not do it justice. Its cute, nicely decorated and well appointed. It was perfect for us and our dog. It would be great for a couple or parent and their 2 kids as well. We'll definitely go back!

Great location and vacation rental. LOVE the screen porch!

Living only 2 1/2 hours away, we come to the beach often. This is the first time we actually stayed on Saint Simon's Island. Glad we did. The check-in process with the management company was seamless. Renters package and instructions were clear and simple and the home was well stocked with everything we needed. We come for the beach, so the short walk was easy and pleasant for those sunrise and sunset walks. When you stay for a week, you cannot eat seafood all the time (at least I can't), and we found Blue Bay, a Mexican restaurant that was fun and delicious. Tuesday's are taco nights (3 for 5 bucks). Cold beer and Marguaritas as good as the food. We also side tripped to Jekyll Island for the Driftwood Beach and Cumberland Island for it's history and great hiking trails. A superb stay and not having to worry about the rental made it that much better. We're hoping to return on a future trip and staying here again would not hurt my feelings. A fun time. Thanks

Enjoyed our stay very much. The location is excellent and getting to the beach was very easy and convenient. Property was in good shape overall. I did mention to the property mgmt office that the carpet was very worn where it meets the kitchen tile, exposing nails. It needs to be fixed.

St. Simon's is an absolutely beautiful place to visit .. so much to see and do and the beach is incredible, the town was so close to our rental which made our days easy to schedule. Privacy of the house was great . Wonderful relaxing time .

Our arrival started out rocky, but Real Escapes Realty got housekeeping to come and clean the condo and make the beds within 30 minutes of our arrival. The location is perfect with a short walk to the beach. Loved the layout of the condo . Our favorite location was the front screened in porch. Great time had by all.

We had a great stay in unit as we liked layout and property location. The place was well equipped and very comfortable. Unit does require some cosmetic repairs and updates (broken bathroom tiles, outside stair tread, weather stripping on french entry door, fridge and stove exhaust lights, worn carpet on main floor). Stove and oven needs a good cleaning and I removed a number old pet stains with Resolve from carpet. All this was rather was rather minor compared to our very enjoyable 41 days there

Was a great place, only recommendation I would make is that the rugs need to be professionally cleaned. They were stained quite badly on our arrival.

Very close to a beautiful beach and about a half hour walk into town along the beach. A comfortable, clean, well equipped place to stay. We just wished we had booked for longer!

We were visiting friends for a birthday and wanted to be within walking distance of the beach. Since it was so convenient, e went numerous times a day. It was fun to be able to walk to the King & Prince via beach one night for dinner also. Although we wished there was more comfortable seating on the porch, we spent more time there than inside the house. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

LOCATION is outstanding and you can be on the beach in 5 minutes. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent. The property was clean enough but several small issues were apparent....these were SMALL things but in the aggregate were a bit off-putting. Light bulbs burned out or otherwise inoperable 1) inside refrigerator 2) over sink area 3) Over the stove (range hood) Also toilet seats need replacement, the plastic pieces underneath were shattered/missing; Toaster broken, toasted ONLY one side; Bush overgrown and "pokes" you when headed up the stairs; Outside stairs need some wood replaced + NEED PAINTING; Carpet upstairs in hall needs to be "re-stretched", it's a "trip hazard"...We will return here but would like to see these things repaired.

Loved this rental and location

Decent, clean accommodations within walking distance of local shops and eateries (1-3 miles) and easy access to the beach...less than 1000 yards~

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at 221 Olive Way this year. The rental agency was right on the mark as we loved our home away from home. There were a few little blips and within minutes it seemed, someone came to right the issue. We are coming back next year to continue playing golf and enjoying the beach.
